Our Mission and Vision.

My Vision Statement

I will provide training and consulting on topics related to water program management for domestic and international organizations, including financial, technological aspects and innovation training. My objective will be to improve the sustainability of water through proper management of this resource, including safe drinking water to the developing world. 

My Mission Statement

I consult, train and develop new products in the water treatment industry on topics ranging from management and technical topics in this field. This provides support to the water treatment and management fields on a global basis, which results in filling problem solving need.

This involves new product and process development regarding water, resins and membranes applied to the Nuclear, Semiconductor, Food/Beverage and Pharmaceutical industries.

Director of Technology & Analytical Services, Siemens Water Technologies (2012 to 2016) Management of technical experts in the field of ion exchange resins and membranes related to water and liquid purification. This involves new product and process development and the analysis of water, resins and membranes applied to the Nuclear, Semiconductor, Food/Beverage and Pharmaceutical industries.

Director of Operations, Siemens Water Technologies (2005 to 2012) Management responsibilities of a key Siemens facility offering products and services to several divisions of the water treatment group of Siemens AG (Siemens Water Technologies Corp.) include: Manufacturing, Technical Services, Laboratory, Facilities, Customer Services and Quality Management.

Branch Manager, Siemens Water Technologies (2001 -2005) Managed all aspects of Vancouver, WA and Spokane, WA branches (Service, Sales, Technology, Operations, and Administration) with ultimate Profit/Loss responsibility.

Director of Technologies, U.S. Filter – (1999 to 2001) Corporate responsibility of major components in water treatment systems such as: ion exchange resins and RO membranes. Responsibilities include: strategic planning, contract negotiations with suppliers, technical advisement on ion exchange issues, course instructor to customers and company personnel, product and market development and inter-company integration on aftermarket product issues.

Aftermarket Department Manager, U.S. Filter – (1994 to 1999) Management responsibilities included budgeting, profit/loss accountability and personnel management of the Aftermarket business group. Specific functions included the sales, marketing, product development and operational management of aftermarket products such as: ion exchange and carbon/filter media, reverse osmosis membranes, replacement parts and laboratory ion exchange products.

Manager, Product Technology, Alcoa Separations Technologies - (1989 to 1994) My responsibilities included: providing final technical decisions to the sales engineers and sales specialists regarding ion exchange and filter media applications, communications with customers for new product design, promotion and problem solving at the customer’s site, resin manufacturing/process development and management of the full-scale implementation of these processes and existing product optimization.

Senior R&D Project Chemist, Illinois Water Treatment Co. (IWT) – (1981 to 1989) I managed R&D projects and personnel related to liquid separation/purification processes which included laboratory work ranging from column studies to full-scale pilot plant operation, presentation and interpretation of data to sales and engineering personnel and formal report writing of these project results.

Assistant Pollution Control Director, Pierce Chemical Company – (1980 to 1981) My responsibilities included monitoring water and air discharges from a variety of chemical processes and treatment facilities of the company. Updating licenses and permits for NPDES and the EPA were a requirement of this position. I became a State of Illinois licensed wastewater operator during this position.

Analytical Chemist, Pierce Chemical Company – (1980 to 1981) Performing analysis and quality control of biomedical research compounds using a variety of techniques including gas and liquid chromatography, infrared and ultraviolet spectrophotometry and a variety of wet lab techniques.

Production Chemist, Pierce Chemical Company – (1979 to 1980) Synthesized commercial scale quantities of special organic compounds used in chromatography and biomedical research applications. Adhered to standard operating procedures while working with the complex organic reactions required to achieve targeted yields of these products.

Volunteer Work:
Lifewater International, Trainer and Team Leader (1999-present) I completed training offered by Lifewater in areas such as well drilling, hand pump repair, biosand filters and hygiene. My training and experience has allowed me to travel internationally and train those who will train others and serve as a team leader to other volunteers.

Director - HOA Board (2005-2009) Served two terms as director on Home Owners Association board with duties ranging from financial guidance, licensing and regulatory compliance and refinement of association By Laws.

Board Member – Blackhawk Bicycle and Ski club (2007-2009) Served two terms on this local athletic club promoting safe bicycling through participation, organizing local bike routes and rides, sponsoring training and helmet and bike distribution in the community.
